Graphic Design Intern, April 2015–Present During my Graphic Design Internship at Canterbury Park, I produced print and digital media. I redesigned the intro pages for the 2015 live racing program and placed all the ads and racing information three times each week during the season. I was responsible for sending all the program pdfs to the printer on time. I created new looks for events as well as promotional material for the Card Casino and Expo Center. For each event, I designed ads for print and digital. Print included posters, ads for the program, and directional signage for inside and outside the building. Digital included the large tote boards in the middle of the racetrack, the Canterbury Park website, and TVs throughout the building. I am currently working part-time designing and helping the marketing team.
Christensen Design, 2010–2015 I Assisted with desktop production on two fine artsexhibition catalogs featuring Minnesota and nationally recognized artists. I also helped with desktop production work on a 350-page catalog raisonné about a Minnesota artist.
Fall 2011–Fall 2014 I attended the University of Minnesota, Duluth, and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design. There I learned all of the aspects of good design, meeting deadlines and working with a team. The design professors treated the classroom like a workplace and we were given assignments to complete for our “clients.”
Fall 2009–Spring 2011 I attended Minnesota State University, Mankato, where I began my Graphic Design studies. Here I was introduced to the Adobe programs and learned the fundamentals.
